📢 The Role of Transnational Education Partnerships in Building Sustainable and Resilient Higher Education 🎉 It is my turn to share with my amazing network this great work I had the pleasure to contribute as co-author. This work, for the International Higher Education Commission (IHEC) highlights the importance of integrating TNE into a cohesive, strategic approach for global higher education provision.I won’t elaborate further in this post, as the work speaks for itself and is definitely worth your time. However, I'd like to highlight a few key points:🔸 Dynamic Nature of TNE: TNE is continually evolving, reflecting the educational needs and contexts of different countries. 🔹 TNE as part of a Global Engagement Strategy: Our approach emphasizes how on-campus and offshore activities synergistically contribute to strategic goals in student recruitment, research, and community impact. 🔸 Innovation in Academic Delivery and Research Collaboration: TNE drives innovation in global academic delivery and international research collaborations. 🔹 Synergies in Educational Provision: We advocate for exploring synergies between at-home and TNE provisions, enhancing student experiences and outcomes for all. 🔹 TNE as a Catalyst for Global Impact: TNE emerges as a vital tool for universities to realise their global impact objectives. This work adds to the growing body of research and practical insights into the potential and value of TNE, a passion shared by many esteemed colleagues in the field. Many thanks for the opportunity to contribute: David Pilsbury, Chris Skidmore, Janet B. Ilieva & Professor Wendy Alexander

Educators and parents: Do you want to understand how to help your students take on extra intellectual challenges before college?Identifying the best opportunities for co-curricular education is unfortunately full of pitfalls. For example:1. It's hard to distinguish high-quality pre-college research opportunities from transactional programs.2. There are dozens of co-curricular programs, many of them hosted by reputable universities. How do you tell the difference between them?3. Once you’ve selected programs of interest, how do you effectively apply? We’ll be covering these topics and providing you a look at your students’ co-curricular options at the 2nd Annual Pioneer Academics Co-Curricular Summit. The sign-up link for this virtual summit on September 30 is in the comments. There are many ways of running a university other than chasing and maybe even gaming the various rankings to elevate one’s global standing. Lily Kong’s philosophy here underscores a deep sense of mission, but more importantly, a self-confidence and unflappable security that are needed to drive such a different approach in growing SMU in the face of two large public universities in Singapore. As an educator, I often had/have to remind graduating students to look beyond the global rankings and realise so-called highly ranked universities do not always equate to quality of teaching and learning. SMU is doing some interesting inter- and cross-disciplinary things with their College of Integrative Studies and their trademark seminar classes.Perceived prestige is not everything. It is wiser to look beyond the rankings game to find a learning environment that will amplify your personal and professional growth so you are able to make a real difference in the ever competitive global marketplace.
