Can you boat on Pawtuckaway Lake? ›

There are many coves and islands that are inaccessible to power boats, and glacial erratic boulders are strewn about the lake bottom, making it hazardous to operate propellers in some spots. Boating opportunities still abound for those alert to navigational markers and familiar with the lake's terrain, though.

Not necessarily. You may want to upgrade to a larger boat with a hull construction designed to handle more intense ocean conditions, but if your freshwater boat can handle the ocean, you can keep using it. Just be sure you keep up with maintenance and know how to flush its systems afterward.

Alcohol is not permitted in the day-use area. Help protect the campground trees.

Camping Information

The bathhouses are equipped with running water, flush toilets. 24 hour showers are available on Big Island and Horse Island. There are no hook-ups at any of the campsites. The park also has a camp store where canoe and kayak rentals are available, as well as a public canoe and kayak launch.

Pawtuckaway boasts a large 700 ft. family beach on the lake with a bathhouse, grills and picnic tables, a playground, and a park store. The park also offers a private group pavilion and ball field available by reservation only.

Can I sleep on my boat overnight? Overnight mooring is illegal in the State of NH, although, it is legal to sleep on your boat overnight while tied to a dock when you have the landowner's permission.

Do you need a boating license to rent a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee? ›

You need a Boating Certificate from NASBLA or the State of NH to rent a boat with over 25hp. You can take a temporary 14-day certificate test at the marina.

JET SKI RENTALS: Our jet-ski rentals are for two-hour, Full day, or multi day periods. Price is $150 for two hours, $400 for a full day.

At Pawtuckaway tandem kayaks, canoes and SUP (paddleboards) are $20 per hour, single kayaks are $15 per hour, and kids kayaks are $10 per hour. All boat rentals are $50 for a half day, $85 for a full day and $150 for a two day rental.

Pawtuckaway Lake boasts many opportunities for the angler to explore its coves and rocky hiding places for fish of all kinds. For those age 16 and older, it is necessary to obtain a fishing license before embarking on this recreational activity.

Lakes and mountains mingle at this state park which features an extensive network of trails and recreation-friendly roads. Bring bikes, hiking shoes, swimsuits, and the whole family.

The Lake Whatcom Management Program charges fees for inspection and decontamination services to partially fund the Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program. All boats are required to have a valid permit when launching and while operating on Lake Whatcom or Lake Samish.

Boating: With 13 public access cites, all managed by Montana Fish and Wildlife and Parks department, there are plenty of places to drop your watercraft. Both motorized and non-motorized watercraft are allowed on Flathead Lake, so whether by jetski or canoe it's easy to explore the 191 square miles of pristine water.

Lake Superior - Small sailboats and paddleboards can be launched into Munising Bay at Sand Point Beach. Munising Bay is a good place for sailing and paddleboarding since it is generally a more sheltered area. Larger boats should use the municipal boat ramps listed above to enter Lake Superior.

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day the elevation is maintained between 735' and 738' for recreation purposes. During the rest of the year the lake is drawn down below 720' and boat launches are not usable.
